Entre os dias 3 e 16 de junho, a LUSICAL voltou a abrir as suas portas às escolas da região para mais uma edição da já tradicional Semana do Ambiente, uma iniciativa que este ano recebeu cerca de 200 alunos do 1.º ciclo provenientes da EB1 da Mendiga, Centro Escolar de Porto de Mós, EB1 do Arrimal e São Jorge.

Ao longo destas visitas, os mais jovens tiveram a oportunidade de conhecer de perto a realidade da indústria da cal e descobrir como este produto está presente em muitas áreas do nosso dia a dia. Desde a produção de papel, à indústria do aço, passando pela agricultura, pelo tratamento de águas e por inúmeras outras aplicações, as crianças puderam perceber a importância da cal para a sociedade moderna.

A visita incluiu um percurso pelas instalações da fábrica, onde os alunos ficaram particularmente impressionados com a Sala de Comando, local a partir do qual são monitorizados e controlados à distância os fornos de cal e outros equipamentos da unidade industrial. Houve ainda oportunidade para observar as linhas robotizadas de embalagem, permitindo um contacto direto com a tecnologia e inovação presentes no processo produtivo.

Mas a experiência não terminou na visita. No final de cada sessão, foi lançado aos participantes um desafio muito especial: um concurso de desenho onde cada criança poderá representar, de forma criativa e original, aquilo que mais a marcou durante este dia de descoberta. Os trabalhos serão posteriormente avaliados por um júri da LUSICAL, que selecionará os desenhos vencedores.

Esta foi já a 5.ª edição da Semana do Ambiente, uma iniciativa que tem vindo a crescer e a consolidar-se graças à excelente adesão das escolas e ao entusiasmo demonstrado pelos alunos e professores. Para a LUSICAL, esta atividade representa uma forma privilegiada de aproximar a indústria das gerações mais novas, permitindo que conheçam a realidade fabril de forma simultaneamente pedagógica, divertida e interativa.

Mais do que uma simples visita, a Semana do Ambiente pretende despertar a curiosidade, promover o conhecimento sobre a indústria e mostrar às crianças que, por trás dos produtos que utilizamos diariamente, existe um vasto mundo de tecnologia, pessoas e processos que merecem ser descobertos.

A todos os alunos, professores e escolas participantes, a LUSICAL agradece a visita e o entusiasmo demonstrado, renovando o compromisso de continuar a promover iniciativas que aproximem a comunidade da indústria e do território onde está inserida.

Between 3^rd and 16^th  June, LUSICAL once again opened its doors to local schools for another edition of its now traditional Environment Week, an initiative that welcomed around 200 primary school pupils from EB1 Mendiga, Centro Escolar de Porto de Mós, EB1 Arrimal and São Jorge.

During these visits, the children had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the lime industry and discover how lime plays an important role in many aspects of everyday life. From paper production and the steel industry to agriculture, water treatment, and many other applications, the students gained a better understanding of the importance of lime in modern society.

The visit included a tour of the plant’s facilities, where the children were particularly impressed by the Control Room, from which the lime kilns and other equipment are remotely monitored and operated. They also had the chance to see the robotized lime packaging lines, providing direct exposure to the technology and innovation involved in the production process.

The experience did not end with the visit. At the end of each session, the children were given a special challenge in the form of a drawing competition, where they were invited to creatively and innovatively illustrate what they had seen and learned during their day of discovery. The drawings will be evaluated by a LUSICAL jury, which will select the best entries.

This year marked the 5th edition of Environment Week, an initiative that has continued to grow and strengthen thanks to the enthusiastic participation of local schools, teachers, and students. For LUSICAL, this event is an excellent opportunity to bring industry closer to younger generations, allowing them to discover the reality of industrial life in a way that is both educational and enjoyable.

More than just a visit, Environment Week aims to stimulate curiosity, promote knowledge about industry, and help children understand that behind many of the products we use every day there is a world of technology, people, and processes worth discovering.
